Mandatory Assessment Tasks
Requirements of the 4 + 2
To complete all the requirements of the 4 +2 supervisees are required to achieve proficiency in the administration, scoring and interpretation of at least nine different psychological tests and instruments chosen from the national psychology examination curriculum.
The nine tests and instruments must include:
-
One adult test of intelligence
-
One child test of intelligence
-
One specialised test of memory
-
Two standardised personality tests, and
-
Four other tests selected from the National psychology examination curriculum.
Each test must be administered, scored and interpreted as many times as necessary to achieve competence. Each test must then be competently demonstrated at least twice to a supervisor during direct observation of practice with real clients, or (where appropriate) in realistic simulated learning environments.
We have created professional development on these assessment tools that cover training in the administration, scoring and interpretation (see professional development section or further details).
Psychometric library
Many provisional psychologists find that they do not have access to all the mandatory assessments through their supervisor, or employer. Or that their supervisor doesn’t have competence in all of the required psychometrics to support them to achieve this competency.
The Provisional Psychologist Network wants to support 4 + 2 interns with this challenge as it is an ongoing issue in the pathway, particularly for provisional psychologists practicing in rural and remote Australia. Whilst hiring of the mandatory assessments is not permitted ethically, accessing them under the guidance of a supervisor is allowed. Therefore, The Provisional Psychologist Network has created a psychometric library for its supervisees to access that covers the main assessments required that are not under public domain.
The Provisional Psychologist Network charges at a different supervision fee to cover the costs of postage and testing forms.
The assessments in the current library are the:
-
Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale (4th ed.) (WAIS-IV)
-
Weschler Intelligence Scale Children (5th ed.) (WISC-V)
-
Weschler Memory Scale (4th ed.) (WMS-IV)
-
Personality Assessment inventory (PAI)
-
16 Personality Factor Questionnaire (16PF)
Primary of The Provisional Psychologist Network are able to access these assessments for a two week period with resources that cover 2 administrations. The resources will be posted by The Provisional Psychologist Network. Access is available Australia wide. Supervisees pay for return postage (express post is required).
Fees: Supervision that focuses on assessing competency by reviewing the two administrations, and review of the two reports will be charged at $215 per hour which includes a two week access period to the psychometric assessments. Supervision that does not require access to the assessments will not attract this higher supervision fee.
Only primary supervises of the Network are able to access our assessments.
Professional development on mandatory assessments and core competencies
